The Big Brother Program

The Story of Christopher

I was matched up to Chris when he was 9 years old. He and his brother were adopted from an orphanage in South Korea; she was a single mom raising two boys. Chris was this litle kid who always had a smile on his face, and loved any kind of sport. Our first outing together we went fishing.
The first Halloween after we were matched, Chris asked me if I would make him up for Trick-or-Treating. I came up with a zombie like idea. I covered his head with a bald wig, covered one eye with an eye patch and scar skin. I then took pieces of white mason line and dyed it with red food coloring. I worked this into the scar skin so it looked like muscle, then plopped a fake eyeball on his cheek.
We did green, black and white makeup mixed with a glow in the dark cream. We left some hair through the bald wig, and added some scar skin to make his head look nasty.
Chris was a Jr. Usher when Jen and I were married.
Sometimes Chris and I did nothing but hung out. We'd watch a movie on TV, or a football game. Other times we'd go bowling, play miniature golf, throw a baseball around or go to a Phillies game.
