After reading an article in Hot Rod, I decided I was going to drop a 500 cubic inch Cadillac motor into it. Everyone does the Chevy thing, you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a Mustang, and Mopars are awesome, but I didn't want to go that route.
I'll add pics as I get them, as well as other info that you may find intresting.
Here are pics of Chris, Fran and Me pulling the motor from a '76 Eldorado.
Sat. 9/7/2002 - We (John, Jay, Matt, and me) just pulled the motor from the Tempest We stripped off the hood and front fenders and pushed the car out of the garage (just the nose). We had a rough time with this mainly because the engine hoist was bone dry. We added Jack oil, but it was not working. We suspect it had a bad o-ring. Matt came up with a pretty cool solution. He cut a length of pipe and punched some holes in the ends with his torch, and propped the arm of the hoist up. He took out his chain block and attached it to the end. It worked like a charm.
John's son Nicholas had a pretty good time fixing carbs. Here he is after the motor is out.
